Abstract

The chapter 'Knowledge Hoarding: A Bibliometric Analysis and Future Research Directions' delves into the critical issue of knowledge hoarding within organizations. It begins by highlighting the growing intensity of global competition, which compels organizations to seek innovative approaches for enhancing internal work performance. The text emphasizes the significance of knowledge management and the detrimental effects of knowledge hoarding on both individual and organizational performance. It conducts a thorough bibliometric analysis of 23 articles, identifying key journals, influential authors, and citation trends. The analysis reveals that knowledge hoarding research has seen fluctuations, with significant contributions in recent years. The study also maps out author networks and topic clusters, providing insights into the interconnections and themes within the literature. Additionally, it discusses the impact of knowledge hoarding on competitive climates, individual behaviors, and organizational policies. The chapter concludes by suggesting future research directions, emphasizing the need for a deeper understanding of the psychological drivers and multilevel effects of knowledge hoarding. It also calls for the integration of diverse theoretical perspectives and cross-national research to broaden the scope of knowledge hoarding studies.
