Abstract

This chapter delves into the critical role of knowledge sharing in construction projects, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. It explores how the pandemic disrupted traditional knowledge transfer methods, highlighting the importance of tacit knowledge and the challenges of sharing it effectively. The study identifies key issues such as the physical absence of supervisors, social distancing measures, and the impact on project management. It proposes a conceptual model that categorizes knowledge-sharing scenarios, including physical and virtual presence of supervisors, and outlines the advantages and disadvantages of each. The chapter also discusses the value of organizational knowledge and the need for strategic guidelines to enhance knowledge sharing. By examining the lessons learned from COVID-19, it offers insights into improving knowledge management practices in construction projects, ensuring better project outcomes and resilience during crises.
