Telefonmediation als Kommunikationsform (Mediieren über das Telefon) ist ein äußerst wirksames Instrument, um Parteien ein formloseres und preisgünstigeres Verfahren anzubieten, wenn Zeitnot, örtliche Entfernung und mangelnde Finanzierungsbereitschaft einer Mediation entgegenstehen. Die von Rechtsschutzversicherungen angebotene Dienstleistung Telefonmediation (personenbezogene Lösungshilfe) hat ein eigenes flexibles Verfahrensdesign (sog. Konfliktlösungsbegleitung), das in der Lage ist, das Verfahren der Konfliktbehandlung mit der Art des Konflikts in Einklang zu bringen.
