Abstract

This chapter delves into the realm of fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) and its application in privacy-preserving tasks. It introduces the concept of functional bootstrapping, which allows for the evaluation of arbitrary functions on encrypted data without decryption. The text explores the challenges of handling large plaintexts and general functions in FHE schemes, particularly focusing on the BFV scheme. A new framework, BootMMPM, is proposed to address these challenges by classifying monic monomial permutation matrices and constructing test polynomial vectors for efficient functional bootstrapping. The chapter provides a detailed comparison of the performance of BootMMPM with the TFHE scheme, highlighting significant improvements in key sizes and computational efficiency. Experimental results demonstrate the practicality and effectiveness of the proposed method, making it a valuable contribution to the field of cryptography and data security.
