Abstract

The chapter introduces a novel method for modeling mRNA dynamics using a transcription-decay decomposition loss function in self-supervised CoxPH for latent embeddings. This approach aims to improve the performance of downstream tasks such as patient sub-typing and drug response prediction in cancer treatment. The method leverages domain knowledge to incorporate biological constraints into dimensionality reduction, thereby enhancing the interpretability and performance of latent representations. The chapter discusses the limitations of traditional methods and highlights the benefits of the proposed approach through experimental evaluations.
