Abstract

This study delves into the promising potential of LC3-based concrete incorporating a high content of recycled sand, aiming to enhance both mechanical and durability properties. The research compares the performance of LC3 concrete with traditional Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) concrete, focusing on key aspects such as compressive strength, water absorption, and capillary water absorption. The findings reveal that LC3 concrete, particularly with a 70% LC3 binder, exhibits superior compressive strength and reduced water absorption compared to OPC concrete. Notably, the study demonstrates that LC3 can compensate for the negative effects of recycled sand, making it a viable and sustainable alternative for modern construction. The research also highlights the importance of mix design and the role of calcined clay in improving the overall performance of concrete. By exploring these aspects, the study provides valuable insights into the potential of LC3-based concrete to contribute to more sustainable and eco-friendly construction practices.
