The Learning and Knowledge Analytics in Open Education (AECT-LKAOE) Summer International Research Symposium took place on June 17 – 19, 2015 in Shanghai, China. Under the leadership of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), this research symposium was co-organized by Indiana State University in the USA and East China Normal University (ECNU) in China. As the Symposium host, ECNU provided a lively forum for scholars, practitioners, and students to explore a wide variety of topics about learning and knowledge analytics in open education. AECT-LKAOE 2015 offered six tracks with nearly 70 sessions in the format of keynote speeches, special and invited presentations, roundtables, posters, and virtual presentations. …
