Abstract

The article delves into the linear and nonlinear optical characterization of dye-polymer composite films based on methylcellulose (MC) and methylene blue (MB). It examines how varying MB concentrations affect the optical properties of these films, including absorption coefficients, optical energy gaps, and Urbach energy. The study reveals shifts in absorption edges and changes in optical band gaps, highlighting the potential of these composites for applications in optoelectronics and photonics. Additionally, the research explores the dispersion behavior of the refractive index and the nonlinear optical parameters, showcasing the promise of MC-MB DPC films in advanced optical devices.
