Abstract

The article delves into the local distinguishability of qudit lattice states, a crucial aspect of quantum information theory. It begins by reviewing the basic notions and properties of lattice unitary matrices, which are essential for understanding qudit lattice states. The authors then present a decomposition of the basis of lattice unitary matrices into maximal commuting sets, each generated by simple generators. This decomposition forms the foundation for their main results. The first result shows that a set of qudit lattice states can be distinguished by one-way LOCC if the number of generators in the difference set is less than the cardinality of the set. This method can distinguish states that previous methods could not. An interesting phenomenon is also highlighted: a set of qudit lattice states can be locally distinguished even if the states in each subsystem cannot be distinguished individually. For cases where the first method fails, the authors provide an alternative approach. Finally, they establish a necessary and sufficient condition for d qudit lattice states to be indistinguishable by LOCC. The article concludes with a discussion of open questions and potential future research directions.
