Abstract

The article delves into the fascinating interplay between quantum nonlocality and entanglement, challenging the conventional wisdom that these phenomena are intrinsically linked. It explores the use of entanglement as a universal auxiliary resource for distinguishing nonlocal orthogonal product states, a task that is otherwise difficult to achieve with Local Operations and Classical Communication (LOCC) alone. The authors present groundbreaking protocols that utilize minimal entanglement to perfectly discriminate various types of nonlocal states, building upon previous work and pushing the boundaries of quantum information processing. The article discusses specific cases of nonlocal states proposed by Xu et al. and Zhu et al., demonstrating the versatility and efficiency of the proposed methods. Furthermore, it provides a detailed discussion on the general process of entanglement-assisted local discrimination, offering valuable insights into the fundamental aspects of quantum mechanics and their practical applications. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the relationship between quantum entanglement and nonlocality, paving the way for advancements in quantum technologies and information processing.
