Abstract

The chapter delves into the long-term climate changes in the Central Caucasus region, focusing on data from high-altitude weather stations. It reveals a significant increase in air temperature over the past decades, with the Klukhorsky Pass and Shatdzhatmaz stations showing temperature rises of 1.4°C and 2.2°C, respectively. Precipitation patterns are cyclical, with periods of significant deviations from the norm. The study also highlights the impact of these changes on the region's water balance and landscape structure, suggesting potential shifts in climatic conditions. Additionally, the analysis includes humidity and sunshine hours, providing a more holistic view of the climate dynamics in the region.
