Abstract

The article introduces a high-performance transimpedance amplifier (TIA) designed for low-voltage, low-power applications in optical communication systems. The TIA employs floating gate MOSFET (FGMOS) and flipped voltage follower (FVF) techniques to overcome the challenges of high bandwidth requirements and low voltage operations. The design incorporates an inductive peaking technique to extend the bandwidth, achieving a −3 dB bandwidth of 13.2 GHz with a transimpedance gain of 50.5 dBΩ at a power supply of 1.2 V. The proposed TIA demonstrates superior noise performance and power efficiency compared to existing designs, making it a promising solution for modern optical receivers.
