Abstract

This chapter delves into the challenges and solutions associated with astrometric solvers, particularly focusing on the ARI JASMINE Astrometric Solver (AJAS). It addresses the complexities of processing vast amounts of observational data with uncertainties, aiming to determine stellar parameters accurately. The integration of the in-situ visual analytics platform SciVi with AJAS is a key innovation, enabling real-time monitoring and assessment of astrometric solutions. The chapter highlights the development of a dedicated software architecture and high-performance data access library, which allows AJAS to handle massive datasets efficiently. It also introduces the concept of compound operators in SciVi, enhancing smart interoperability and making data processing pipelines more versatile. Practical examples, such as plotting the spectrum of eigenvalues, fitting Gaussian curves to residuals, and visualizing stellar uncertainties, demonstrate the capabilities of SciVi in assessing solution quality and identifying areas for improvement. The chapter concludes with a vision for future enhancements, including the extension of the toolset and optimization of the RACCOONS library, making it a compelling read for those interested in advancing astrometric solutions and data analytics.
