Abstract

The study investigates the impact of land management scale on biodiversity patterns in suburban green spaces, focusing on plant and bee communities. It compares residential yards managed by individual homeowners with powerline corridors managed by a single company, examining the effects of different management types and scales on alpha, beta, and gamma diversity. The research highlights the higher beta diversity in residential yards due to greater environmental heterogeneity, while large-scale management in powerline corridors leads to higher nestedness. The findings have significant implications for conservation strategies, suggesting that targeting high-diversity sites may be more effective in large-scale management areas, while multiple sites should be targeted in small-scale management to capture the greatest biodiversity.
