Abstract

The article delves into the manufacturing of 30Cr15Mo1VN high-nitrogen stainless bearing steel by a pressurized duplex process, combining pressurized induction melting (PIM) and pressurized electroslag remelting (PESR). This process overcomes the limitations of traditional methods, such as uneven nitrogen distribution and high cost. The study focuses on the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the steel produced by PIM and PIM+PESR processes. It finds that PIM+PESR steel exhibits superior mechanical properties, including higher strength and toughness, due to reduced inclusion quantity, alleviated element segregation, and more uniform microstructure. The research offers valuable insights into optimizing the cleanliness and microstructure of high-performance steels for aerospace applications.
