Cooperation for holographic augmented reality head-up displays: AGP eGlass has developed a glass that puts holographic optical elements for WayRay’s augmented reality HUD on the windshield.

Swiss manufacturer WayRay has developed a holographic augmented reality head-up display and is now collaborating with AGP eGlass. The glazing specialist has developed a new glazing technology for WayRay that brings the Holographic Optical Elements (HOEs) to the windshield. The transparent and thin HOEs can thus be integrated into curved laminated glass parts, allowing a field of view and distance to the virtual image from 0 m to infinity. The holographic AR HUD can be used by both the driver and passengers.

It brings augmented reality to the windshield, transforming the glass into a “virtual world” for driver assistance and infotainment. The display can be customized to meet the specific integration requirements of each car model, according to the manufacturer. AGP eGlass and WayRay have developed a high-tech glass package for this purpose. “Through our strategic partnership with AGP as the automotive industry's most innovative and forward-thinking glazing company, we at WayRay will bring our groundbreaking True Augmented Reality to cars in 2023, creating windows into virtual worlds for drivers and passengers,” said Vitaly Ponomarev, CEO and founder of WayRay.
