Mathematical modeling of the shape of the cavity of a thin-slab continuous-casting mold

Abstract

A method is proposed for constructing the profile of the expanded upper working cavity of the mold to allow it to accommodate the pouring nozzle in the casting of thin slabs. A relation is presented to determine the angle of inclination of the narrow faces of the mold.
