Abstract

The article delves into the mechanical durability testing and self-recovery properties of topographically modified superhydrophobic surfaces, particularly focusing on aluminum alloys. It investigates the effects of abrasion tests on these surfaces, highlighting the importance of factors such as sample area, abrasion duration, and cleaning protocols. The study also emphasizes the need for standardized test methods and the complexities involved in maintaining the hydrophobicity of these surfaces. The experimental results show that topographical modifications significantly affect the abrasion resistance, and the study concludes with a discussion on the unresolved questions and future work needed to ensure consistent and comparable results.
