Abstract

The article delves into the mechanism of directional reduction strengthening of nickel laterite ore under fluidization conditions. It begins by highlighting the significance of nickel in various industrial applications and the global distribution of nickel resources. The study focuses on the fluidized roasting technology as a novel approach to treating nickel laterite ore, which simplifies energy-intensive processes and enhances production efficiency. The research investigates the effects of different reducing agents, such as semi-coke, CO, CH4, H2, and additives like Na2SO4, on the selective reduction of nickel laterite ores. The findings show that fluidized roasting technology can effectively control the reduction of nickel and iron, leading to improved metallization rates and enhanced economic efficiency. The article also discusses the phase transitions and mineral changes that occur during the reduction process, providing insights into the mechanisms that influence the metallization rates of nickel and iron.
