Abstract

This chapter delves into the mechanisms and strategies of smart governance for improving urban resilience, a critical issue amidst rapid global urbanization. It examines the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and e-government in enhancing ecological, economic, social, and infrastructure resilience. The study employs panel regression models to analyze data from 29 key cities in China between 2014 and 2020, revealing that while ICT positively impacts economic and social resilience, its effect on environmental resilience is negative. The chapter also highlights the need for optimizing e-government platforms and promoting digital technology utilization to strengthen urban resilience. The findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and urban planners aiming to achieve sustainable urban development in the digital economy era.
