Abstract

The chapter delves into the methodology for planning green infrastructure to mitigate landslide risk, highlighting the crucial role of ecosystem services. It introduces the concept of green infrastructure and its benefits in mitigating climate change effects and extreme events like landslides. The methodology, based on spatial analysis in a GIS environment, involves three macro-phases: evaluating ecosystem services, identifying land uses that maximize erosion control, and designing a multi-functional GI network. The case study in the Campania Region demonstrates the application of this methodology, showcasing the potential of green infrastructure in high-risk areas. The discussion emphasizes the importance of integrating ecosystem functions into land management policies to enhance territorial resilience.
