Abstract

The article delves into the extraction of microcrystalline cellulose from Mangifera indica leaf biowaste, emphasizing its potential as a renewable resource for high-performance bio-based polymer composites. The study covers the detailed chemical processes involved in extracting and purifying cellulose, including dewaxing, acid hydrolysis, alkaline treatment, and bleaching. The characterization of the extracted cellulose using FTIR, XRD, and TGA/DTG reveals its high crystallinity index and thermal stability. The findings suggest that Mangifera indica leaf cellulose could be a promising material for bioethanol production and various bioproducts, contributing to sustainable and eco-friendly composite applications.
