Abstract

This chapter delves into the modeling and optimization of a district heating system in northern China, focusing on enhancing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. The study employs the Dymola platform and Modelica language to create a detailed simulation model of a typical residential community's secondary heating system. Key topics include the construction of a dynamic hydraulic model, the integration of nonlinear programming for optimization, and the comparison of hourly and daily optimization strategies. The results show that hourly optimization can reduce pump energy consumption by 36.61% and total system flow by 14.65%, outperforming the daily optimization strategy. This research highlights the potential of advanced modeling and optimization techniques in improving the performance of district heating systems.
