Abstract

The study focuses on predicting suitable habitats for Quercus castaneifolia in the Hyrcanian forest using machine learning algorithms. It integrates various environmental factors such as climate, soil, and topography to model the species' distribution. The research highlights the importance of soil bulk density and other key environmental variables in predicting the presence of Q. castaneifolia. The findings indicate that the eastern regions of the Hyrcanian forest are most suitable for the species, providing critical insights for conservation and restoration efforts. The use of machine learning techniques, particularly Random Forest, demonstrates high accuracy in predicting habitat suitability, making the study a valuable resource for ecologists and conservationists.
