Abstract

The article discusses the challenges posed by 5G networks and the need for high-performance RF switches. It introduces an Elevated Coplanar Waveguide (ECPW) based RF MEMS switch, which offers advantages over traditional Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) switches. The use of artificial neural networks (ANN) is proposed to predict the RF performance of the ECPW switch, reducing the time-consuming simulation process. The paper presents the design, fabrication, and testing of the ECPW switch, highlighting the improved performance and reduced actuation voltage. The ANN model is validated through extensive testing, demonstrating its accuracy and efficiency in predicting switch parameters. The study concludes by comparing the proposed switch with state-of-the-art RF MEMS switches, showcasing its superior performance and potential for high-speed digital interconnect applications.
