Abstract

The chapter delves into the advancements in 5G communications, emphasizing the need for wideband antennas to support high data rates and low latency. It introduces the concept of MIMO antennas, which use multiple input and output signals to enhance transmission capacity and reduce congestion. The design of a four-port MIMO antenna using bended curves is discussed, with a focus on its application in mmWave 5G communications. The chapter also presents various MIMO antenna designs for different 5G applications, including wearable devices and smartphones, highlighting their performance metrics such as gain, efficiency, and envelope correlation coefficient. The chapter concludes by discussing the future trends and potential applications of MIMO antennas in the era of 5G and beyond.
