Abstract

The article discusses the modification of degradable polyurethane materials using L-tyrosine to enhance their application in soilless cultivation. The study introduces the synthesis process of L-Tyr-PCL-PCDL-PUF/KHA (LTPPPK) materials and investigates their pore structure, chemical composition, mechanical properties, water absorption, and degradation characteristics. Cultivation experiments using lettuce as a test subject show that LTPPPK materials significantly improve plant growth and nutrient uptake compared to unmodified polyurethane foams. The article concludes that LTPPPK materials offer a promising solution for sustainable and efficient soilless cultivation, with LTPPPK-3 demonstrating the best overall performance.
