Abstract

The article presents a modified Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm for Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) in a single-phase power distribution system using a three-phase Induction Generator (IIG). It addresses the challenges of electrifying remote villages by leveraging the advantages of IIGs over conventional synchronous generators. The study focuses on improving the efficiency and stability of the system through proper power transfer between main and dump loads, ensuring constant terminal voltage and frequency. The proposed algorithm is validated through experimental results, demonstrating its effectiveness in maintaining system performance under varying load conditions. The article also provides a detailed mathematical modeling of the IIG system and discusses the performance of the proposed controller under different operating scenarios.
