With assistance functions like glare-free high beam or adaptive bending lights, headlamps have long been more than just a source of light. LED technology, intelligent controls, and high-resolution projections make modern headlamps complex mechatronic systems with high development costs. Therefore, Fraunhofer IEM Institute, Heinz Nixdorf Institute, TU Dortmund and Hella have implemented a development process in the "Smart Headlamp Technology" research project that reduces effort, duration, and costs. …
