Zusammenfassung

This chapter investigates the depths of diverse and multicultural human capital in luxury companies, through the exploration of perceptions of Human Resource and Sales employees working in luxury companies. The need for multicultural employees with diverse backgrounds seems necessary for an organization to remain competitive amongst their competitors, but there is a need to explore this principal in luxury companies as well. Several semi-structured interviews and questionnaires were conducted of employees working in luxury companies from around the world in various sectors. While the respondents described their own personal experiences with luxury companies and diversity, they also shared their thoughts on the advantages and disadvantages of hiring employees with diverse cultures and backgrounds in luxury settings. A content analysis of the conducted interviews lead to the identification of four main subtypes of advantages for multicultural hiring within luxury companies: communication amongst clients, positive work environment, self-improvement and company growth.
