Abstract

This article delves into the synthesis and characterization of a novel broadband blue phosphor, Ca8(Al12O24)(WO4)2:Eu2+, highlighting its potential for use in phosphor-converted white light-emitting diodes (pc-WLEDs). The study focuses on the phosphor's structural properties, luminescent behavior, and thermal stability. Key findings include the phosphor's ability to exhibit broadband blue emission with high color purity, attributed to the multiple site occupancy of Eu2+ ions within the host lattice. The research also explores the concentration quenching mechanism and the thermal quenching behavior of the phosphor, providing valuable insights into its performance under varying conditions. The article concludes by emphasizing the phosphor's potential applications in high color rendering index (CRI) and warm-tone lighting, making it a promising candidate for advanced lighting technologies.
