Abstract

The article explores the application of multirole UAVs in parking surveillance systems to address the growing problem of illegal parking in urban areas. It introduces a prototype model that uses AI and machine learning algorithms to monitor public areas and detect improperly parked vehicles. The system architecture is centralized, featuring Observer UAVs for vehicle detection and Inspector UAVs for identification, coordinated by a Control Center. The case study, conducted in the city of Doboj, demonstrates the practical implementation of the proposed system, highlighting the challenges and solutions in UAV operation and communication. The study also discusses the use of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for object detection, emphasizing the need for a large and diverse training set to improve accuracy.
