Abstract

This chapter delves into the innovative application of Face Emotion Recognition (FER) for music recommendation, specifically through the development of EmoTunes. The system uses deep learning to detect facial emotions and recommends music based on the detected emotion, aiming to enhance cognitive wellness. The chapter provides a comprehensive literature review on FER, highlighting various algorithms and datasets used in emotion detection. It also details the architecture and implementation of EmoTunes, including the use of transfer learning and ensemble models to achieve high accuracy. The chapter evaluates the system's performance and discusses its potential applications in various settings, such as assisting the blind community and drivers. Despite its success, the chapter acknowledges limitations and outlines future work to improve the system's accuracy and functionality.
