Abstract—

The study delves into the mycobiota of alien plants in the Siberian Arctic, specifically in the Norilsk region, highlighting the profound changes in terrestrial Arctic ecosystems due to rapid temperature increases. It explores the role of fungi in plant community dynamics and nutrient cycling, and the response of Arctic fungi to climate warming. The research identifies a significant increase in the number of alien fungal species, driven by the introduction of woody and herbaceous plants for landscaping and agricultural purposes. The study documents the discovery of numerous new fungal species, including both pathogenic and saprotrophic types, and discusses their potential impact on local ecosystems. It also examines the vectors of fungal invasion, such as the import of building materials and the movement of people and goods. The research concludes that the introduction and spread of alien fungal species are largely local and associated with settlements and industrial centers, with a rapid turnover in species composition reflecting the extreme natural and climatic conditions of the high latitudes. The study underscores the need for further research into the impact of global warming on the invasion of alien plant species and associated fungi, and the potential for homogenization of the northern fungal biota.
