Abstract

The article investigates the nanoscale deformation of coal under uniaxial compression using in situ SANS, focusing on the alteration of pore structures and their orientation. It highlights the anisotropic nature of coal porosity and how external stress conditions affect the evolution of nanopores. The study provides valuable data on the porosity ratios and orientation factors under varying stress levels, contributing to a deeper understanding of geomechanical effects during coalbed methane recovery. The results show that nanopores can dilate under stress, and the degree of orientation changes with increasing stress, offering new perspectives on the behavior of coal under compression.
