Abstract

The article presents a new discrete distribution model, the Natural Discrete One Parameter Polynomial Exponential (NDOPPE) family, designed to analyze count data more flexibly than existing models. It generalizes the negative binomial distribution by incorporating non-zero constants, making it suitable for over-dispersed data. The NDOPPE model is computationally efficient and statistically inferable, with applications in collective risk models. The article compares the NDOPPE model with other distributions using real-world automobile claim data, demonstrating its superior performance.
