Abstract

The study investigates the Muntele Mare Granite massif in Romania, focusing on the infill material on its discontinuities. It examines the primary mineralogy, secondary alteration products, and the influence of weathering processes on rock stability. Advanced analytical methods, including X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, are employed to identify secondary minerals and assess their impact on the granite's quality and slope stability. The research highlights the spatial relationship between hydrothermal alteration and the distribution of infill material, providing valuable insights into the factors affecting the degradation of the granitic rock.
