Abstract

The article presents a detailed investigation into the creation of new composites based on closed-cell polyurethane foam (PUF) enhanced with natural nanomaterials. The study focuses on the use of halloysite nanotubes (HNT) and nanocellulose (NC) as additives to improve the fire resistance and mechanical properties of PUF. The researchers found that these natural materials significantly alter the structure and properties of the foams, leading to enhanced fire resistance and mechanical stability. The article delves into the methods used to produce these composite materials, including the dispersion of additives in polyol and the foaming process. It also discusses the effects of varying additive concentrations on the pore size, compressibility, and fire resistance of the resulting foams. The findings suggest that these natural nanomaterials can be effectively used to modify PUF, offering a promising alternative to traditional fire retardants. The study is supported by detailed experimental data and analyses, providing a valuable resource for researchers and professionals in the field of polymer materials and fire safety.
