The employees of Rösler India, together with managing director Stephan Rösler and Sandeep Gulati, managing director of Acton Finishing Ltd. UK, which is Rösler’s partner in this joint venture, celebrated the official opening of the Rösler site in Pune in the Maharashtra district with a traditional Indian ceremony. The new manufacturing plant with its accompanying offices is an addition to Rösler’s existing Indian subsidiary, Rösler SurfaceTech Pvt, Ltd in Bangalore. In the new premises, which consist of a production area covering 2680 square metres, including a test lab and job shop, and additional office space of 240 square metres, standard shot blast machines and rotary vibrators will be manufactured. Work has already begun on producing the new machines. The aim is to use only machinery designs from Germany and to manufacture the equipment at the Indian site using local suppliers. The decision to open the new plant was an important strategic step for Rösler, which will allow it to compete successfully with low-cost machinery manufacturers in India and to increase its share of the Indian and South-East Asian market. Rösler India plans to increase its workforce to 50 people within the next few months.
