Nicht ganz passend? Moral und Organisation im Neo-Institutionalismus

Zusammenfassung

In einem Dreischritt erkundet dieser Beitrag die Eignung des Neo-Institutionalismus zur Untersuchung des Zusammenhangs von Moral und Organisation. Erstens wird auf klassische Fragen loser Kopplung sowie auf Diffusionsaspekte und die Transformation von Organisationen hin zu verantwortlichen Kollektivakteuren eingegangen. Zweitens werden ausgewählte Weiterentwicklungen beleuchtet; die Wiederentdeckung von Werten als Bezugspunkte organisationalen Entscheidens, die Rationalisierung moralischer Anliegen und die Rolle von Professionen dabei. Drittens wird mit einem Fokus auf Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) und Sozialunternehmen die Moralisierung von Unternehmen thematisiert. Der Beitrag endet mit einer Diskussion der Möglichkeiten und Grenzen einer Anwendung des Neo-Institutionalismus auf das Thema Organisation und Moral. Das Ergebnis ist ambivalent: Zwar eignet sich der Ansatz, um bestimmte Fragen der Moral und Moralisierung auf sozialwissenschaftlich anspruchsvolle Art zu bearbeiten, doch scheint das Themenfeld nur teilweise zu einem Forschungsprogramm zu passen, das vornehmlich Fragen der Rationalisierung in den Vordergrund rückt.
