Abstract

The article investigates the intricate dynamics of open quantum systems interacting with squeezed thermal baths, with a particular focus on non-Markovian processes. It begins by discussing the challenges posed by environmental interactions, such as dissipation and decoherence, which are critical obstacles in quantum information processing. The study introduces reservoir engineering techniques, emphasizing the use of squeezed vacuum states to mitigate these adverse effects. The core of the article presents a quantum state diffusion (QSD) method to examine open quantum system dynamics in non-Markovian squeezed thermal reservoirs, deriving a non-Markovian master equation and exploring its implications. The article provides illustrative examples using single- and two-qubit systems, analyzing the impact of reservoir temperature, environmental non-Markovianity, squeezing direction, and squeezing strength on system dynamics. Through detailed numerical simulations and analytical derivations, the study offers valuable insights into the behavior of quantum systems in complex environments, paving the way for advanced strategies in noise suppression and quantum information processing.
