Abstract

The article introduces a robust decentralized PID controller for a benchmark CSTR system, leveraging nonlinear constraint optimization and Kharitonov–Hurwitz stability analysis. It addresses the challenges of controlling a complex, nonlinear CSTR system with multiple inputs and outputs. The controller design ensures robust performance and stability, verified through extensive simulations and robustness analysis. The article compares the proposed controller with existing methods, highlighting its superior performance and design flexibility for different operating regions.
