Abstract

The chapter delves into the dynamic analysis of railway formations enhanced with geogrid-reinforced blanket layers. It examines the behavior of displacements and stresses in these formations under high-speed train loads, comparing models with and without geogrid reinforcement. The study utilizes three-dimensional finite element models developed in PLAXIS 3D software to simulate real-time conditions. The analysis reveals that geogrids significantly improve load distribution and reduce stresses, particularly when placed at various depths in the ballast layer. The chapter highlights the potential of geogrids as a ground improvement measure, demonstrating their effectiveness in stabilizing railway formations and mitigating deformations. The findings underscore the need for further research to validate these results through lab experiments and real-world observations.
