Abstract

The chapter delves into the numerical analysis of reinforced concrete beams strengthened with CFRP after exposure to freeze–thaw cycles. It discusses the significant impact of freeze–thaw conditions on the durability and load capacity of these beams, highlighting the degradation of concrete and CFRP-concrete bond strength. The study employs finite element analysis to predict the behavior of these beams, offering a detailed examination of stress and strain distribution, deflections, and failure modes. The research compares the performance of both non-strengthened and CFRP-strengthened beams, providing crucial data on the effectiveness of CFRP reinforcement in mitigating the effects of freeze–thaw cycles.
