Abstract

The article explores the fire resistance of high strength Q690 steel flush end-plate connections at elevated temperatures, focusing on the impact of parameters such as axial compression ratio, bending moment ratio, end-plate thickness, and bolt diameter. Using finite element analysis, the study validates a thermal creep model and conducts parametric analyses to evaluate the performance of these connections under high temperatures. The research highlights the importance of considering thermal creep in the design of high strength steel structures and provides valuable insights into optimizing the design parameters for enhanced fire safety.
