Obtaining Ultra-long Wear Lifetime of Graphene Oxide Films Under High Contact Stress Through Soft and Hard Interbeded Formation Mode

Abstract

The rapid growth of micro/nano technology has highlighted the importance of micro/nano electronic mechanical systems (MEMS/NEMS). However, stiction, friction, and wear pose significant challenges to their reliability and durability. Traditional liquid lubricants are ineffective due to adhesion, and while molecular lubricants offer potential, they lack the necessary bearing capacity. Graphene oxide (GO), with its outstanding properties, shows promise as a solid lubricant. This article delves into the construction of GO-based composite multilayers using self-assembly methods, focusing on their bearing capacity and tribological behaviors. The coupling of rigid GO and flexible poly(acrylamide-co-diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PQ-7) enhances the wear life and bearing capacity of the composite multilayers. Experimental results demonstrate that the (GO/PQ-7) 5 composite multilayers exhibit outstanding tribological properties, with a service life exceeding 27,000 seconds under high load, making them a promising solution for MEMS/NEMS and other silicon-based micro/nanodevices.
