Abstract

The article delves into the oil displacement efficiency of high-power water flooding experiments in oilfields dominated by continental clastic rock deposits. It highlights the challenges in improving water flooding recovery efficiency and the inconsistencies in measuring water flooding efficiency across different oilfields. The research focuses on the transformation of core-scale water flooding efficiency to reservoir scale, using nuclear magnetic resonance and phase permeability curve experiments. The study also presents calculation formulas for oil displacement efficiency in different well patterns, such as inverted nine-spot, row well, and five-spot well patterns. The results show that high-power water flooding can significantly improve oil displacement efficiency by altering pore throat radius, wettability, and reducing residual oil saturation. The article concludes with a case study of the Bohai S oilfield, demonstrating the effectiveness of well pattern infill adjustments in enhancing oil displacement efficiency. This comprehensive approach provides valuable insights and practical solutions for improving water flooding recovery efficiency in oilfields.
