Abstract

The article presents the Omega-Type Probability Models, a new method for increasing the number of parameters in existing probability distributions without inserting model components. The Omega Lindley Distribution, a specific example of this method, is introduced and its mathematical properties are explored, including series representations, density, hazard, and survival functions, moments, and parameter estimation methods. The proposed distribution is shown to be flexible enough to model various real-life trends, such as monotonic increasing and decreasing trends, right-skewed and modified unimodal trends. The article also demonstrates the applicability of the Omega Lindley Distribution through real-life data analysis, highlighting its superior performance compared to other distributions in the Lindley family. The research concludes by emphasizing the potential of the proposed parameter inclusion strategy in the field of mathematical statistics and its wide applications in survival data analysis.
