Abstract

The article discusses the integration of large language models (LLMs) in model-driven engineering (MDE), focusing on their applications in tasks such as model generation, completion, and management. It highlights the potential of LLMs to enhance MDE processes and outlines a systematic literature review on the subject. The paper also presents a detailed technical overview of prompt engineering and the challenges associated with LLM integration in MDE. Furthermore, it proposes a research agenda for future developments, emphasizing the bidirectional collaboration between MDE and LLMs. The article concludes with a discussion on the ethical implications and the need for further research in this emerging field.
