Abstract

The article explores the challenges of uncoordinated EV charging in low voltage distribution networks, such as transformer overloading. It proposes a control technique using EV storage through V2G and G2V to lower peak power demand and optimize energy distribution. The paper discusses various EV control algorithms for frequency correction, voltage regulation, and transformer overloading prevention. It also introduces a comprehensive energy management strategy that considers real-time limitations and constraints, aiming to optimize energy distribution, maximize EV storage exploitation, and minimize battery degradation. The proposed strategy uses Water Filling Algorithm for optimal energy distribution and MOGA for multi-objective optimization. Additionally, it employs ANFIS for EV prioritization based on multiple decision variables. The article presents a three-stage EMS with EV availability estimation, optimal energy distribution, and EV prioritization. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy in load flattening, voltage regulation, and cost minimization. The paper concludes by highlighting the key improvements observed in the performance of the proposed strategy compared to other methods.
